Initial designs for Plastic Jesus Streetwear

Instead of just launching my streetwear collection I’ve decided to share the journey from concept, through design and production and ultimately to launch.

I wanted to create a style that reflects a subversive nature, the sense of rebellion, but without screaming ANARCHIST!.

I believe that each of use has a subversive side. A inner passion that wants to kick the system, to prove to the world we are individual and not sheep. Over the next few years I feel we are going to see more brands take political and ethical sides. We have recently seen it with Nike in their support of Colin Kaepernick and Levis’ involvement in with action for safer gun controls.

With my streetwear collection I want to show that the individual is engaged in culture, society and politics and is the type of person who is happy to call out those with authority when it counts.

The collection has to be:

  • Appeal to a wide demographic ( to match my audience)

  • Ideally be made in the USA (under ethical conditions)

  • Be bold but not scream at you

  • Carry a subtle but visible message to the world.

  • Convey a feeling of rebellion through unique detailing

This is my starting point.
